Egg Nog
Ingredients:
6 Eggs Seperate
¾ Cups of White Sugar
2 Cups of Whole Milk
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
1 Cup of Big Easy Whiskey
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Nutmeg
Pinch of Salt
Directions:
1. Prepare the Topping
In a clean bowl, combine the egg whites and sugar. Whisk the mixture vigorously until it becomes light and fluffy.
Put in the fridge until ready to serve.
2. Infuse the Base
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, cream, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt. Stir occasionally, making sure the mixture gets hot but does not reach a boil.
3. Temper and Thicken
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Slowly add the egg yolks by stirring them constantly into the warm milk mixture. Once combined, return the pan to the heat and cook gently until the liquid has thickened.
4. Chill
Transfer the mixture to a container and place it in the refrigerator.
Let it chill for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the texture to set.
5. Assemble and Serve
When ready to serve:
Pour the chilled base into glasses.
Gently dollop the fluffy egg whites on top.
Finish with a fresh grating of nutmeg for garnish.
